Hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas. It's been a busy season for shipping and we'll take a short break between January 1st and 4th.
Orders can still be placed, but will be shipped second week of January.
Marzipan is a confection mainly consisting of almonds and sugar. In the U.S., it is often referred to as almond paste, which is true - but it's so much more.
Marzipan is widely known in Europe and associated with holidays and family traditions. It's a product that many Scandinavians remember fondly from their childhood. It's been around for hundreds of years, but in the U.S. it's still kind of a novel item in the dessert aisle. It's often referred to as a baking ingredient (an almond paste), or something you shape into small figures. For me, marzipan is much more - but I also grew up with a very different kind of marzipan. First and foremost, it is delicious when eaten directly from the package, or when used in several mouthwathering desserts and cakes.
I'm so thrilled that I can now share Odense Marcipan, one of the leading manufacturers of marzipan and part of my family history, with you. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do.Charlotte Wetche
